Accounting Manager

As the Accounting Manager, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with the company financial plans and policies, with direct responsibility for managing the accounting staff, accounting practices, maintenance of fiscal records and the preparation of financial reports.  You will strategically maintain and monitor a system of financial controls and accounting procedures that will ensure integrity of all systems within the organization.  All tasks and interactions are done in a way that upholds the company’s mission, vision, and values.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or work-related experience
  • Five years of accounting/financial management experience, preferably in the hospitality industry
  • Experience in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (LOOKUP functions, pivot tables, and other complex formulas and spreadsheet links)
  • Advanced skills in utilizing financial software, preferably with Toast POS, EzLinks Golf, Maestro POS, PayNW payroll, SAGE, or similar programs
  • Proven leadership skills with ability to build trust, provide direction, drive alignment and execute with excellence
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and consistency in completing work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across departments and all levels of the organization
  • Analytical mindset with strong planning, organization and complex problem-solving abilities
  • Team player, confident, good judgement, self-motivated and ability to manage priorities and execute in a fast-paced environment across all levels of management, business functions and geographies
  • Ability to be flexible, multi-task, meet tight deadlines and prioritize
  • Valid Drivers' License

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and manage a high performing team within the department
  • Create and maintain regular cash flow statements and projections
  • Oversee treasury management & bank account administration including coordinating with the company’s payment automation process
  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Complete regular review and reporting associated with lender financing requirements and loan setup
  • Manage, monitor and review month end accounting close process to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained. Responsible for producing the standard monthly reporting package
  • Analyze and review month end consolidation and the monthly management reports for accuracy
  • Complete monthly analysis and review of all entities’ general ledgers, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, consolidated financial statements and operational metrics for accuracy and completeness
  • Identify continuous operational efficiency improvement opportunities and partner across teams to propose and implement solutions
  • Develop, implement, document and maintain adequate and effective accounting processes and internal controls
  • Develop and apply the proper accounting treatment for complex and/or unusual transactions
  • Prepare documentation required for timely completion of annual review/audit process by third party accounting firm, including preparation of annual tax return and prepare tax provisions
  • Analyze and review fixed assets and depreciation
  • Manage equipment leases and buyouts
  • Provide support on special projects as required
  • Meet accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions
  • Support cross-functional efforts and build relationships by researching and interpreting accounting policy and applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
  • Avoid legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation, enforcing accounting regulations and recommending new procedures
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Educate operations management in financial matters to build management team effectiveness.
  • Responsible for development of Risk Management program. Maintain insurance (general liability, property and Worker’s Compensation) programs. Ensure compliance, and provide reporting, documentation and implementation of controls

PAY RATE

$95,000 - $110,000 annually (DOE)
